Location : Home- Flax and Omega-3s
Flaxseed has been cultivate since Neolithic times, and is one of the oldest plants used by Man.
Flaxseed is one of the traditional components in animal nutrition.
In the past, farmers used to prepare a "bouillie" of flaxseed called "gâche", known for its benefits on animal health. In fact, flaxseeds are the richest source of Omega 3 in the plant kingdom. They contain 40% oil and 60% Omega 3.
Its comeback today symbolises agriculture that respects the environment and the main equilibria in the food chain.
The Tradi-Lin® adventure at VALOREX®
In spring, cows eat excellent quality grass. Linseed, with its high Omega 3 content, has a nutritional profile close to that of spring grass.
This discovery has led VALOREX® to offer a solution for the continuation of this nutritional intake beyond the grass season.
In the early 1990s the adventure began:
- selection of the linseed
- crop planning
- start of cultivation
- development of linseed thermo-extrusion
“Tradi-Lin®”, the fruit of the encounter between a seed and a process, was born.
Then a simple method for use was created for animal nutrition, it's it3. Zootechnical studies have confirmed the validity of the concept for technical and economical performance on farms.
Official recognition (citation) is the jewel in the crown of the wonderful Tradi-Lin® adventure.
