VALOREX HAS BEEN STRUCTURING CROP PRODUCTION NETWORKS

FOR OVER 20 YEARS

Joint research by Valorex and INRA since the 1990’s has shown that fodder, oilseeds and protein-rich plants provide valuable nutrients for animal feed: Omega-3 fatty acids, polyphenols, vitamins and minerals.
By improving specific nutritional properties, such as Omega-3, through its patented seed cooking method, Valorex has created a source of food that stands apart and is unmatched in human and animal nutrition, and that endorses structuring quality crop production networks.

80% of the oil and protein seeds cooked in France are processed by Valorex.

Valorex cooks 77,000 tons of seeds per year:

  • 12,000 tons of beans, lupin and peas;
  • 60,000 tons of linseed and
  • 5,000 tons of soybeans

The flax oilseed flax sector

For more than 20 years, Valorex has been organising a network that supports linseed producers economically through guaranteed price agreements. Today, this network contracts 85% of linseed production in France. Cultivated land equivalent to 6,000 ha in the early 2000s has now reached 20,000 ha. The linseed harvested is used in the production of Varolex’s Tradilin® range.

The protein sector

As part of the Proleval research programme, Valorex has relaunched the production of protein-rich crops (peas, lupin, faba beans) by creating a protein-rich crop network chain under contract. The varieties of the crops are qualified and traced.
