Pioneering, Valorex
promotes growing rare and valuable seeds
A pioneer in structuring oilseed and protein crop production networks, Valorex has built up expertise based on innovative processes.

Creating improved seed varieties
The seed varieties collected by Valorex are certified and result from work with French selectors of oilseeds and protein-rich crops, who focus their research not only on agronomic performance but also on the nutritional composition of seeds: their content in Omega-3, fats or proteins, depending on the sector in question.
Valorex is also committed to research into enhanced crop management techniques and creation of varieties, validated by Terres Inovia technical institute. This research has enabled technical levers to be identified and new seed varieties developed. In the specific case of oilseed flax, this has resulted in Omega-3 content exceeding 65%, 15% higher than content in standard varieties.

Using near-infrared techniques to measure seed quality
Valorex has its own analytical laboratory that qualifies all of the seed batches purchased from collector organisations. These data are measured in real time on arrival of the delivery truck, using an infrared spectrometer with calibrations designed and developed by Valorex. This technology means that suppliers can be paid quickly, taking into account seed quality and segmenting seeds by quality so that they can be put to good use according to requirements.
Introduction of guaranteed price agreements
Setting up crop production networks is bolstered by network agreements with guaranteed prices, introduced by Valorex over 15 years ago for farmers, cooperatives and collector organisations. The agreements that cooperatives or collector organisations set up with their farming partners are negotiated by their own technicians and include the agreement terms established beforehand with Valorex.
